Dewata Beach
Cycle past Dewata Beach, a tranquil stretch of coastline in Dewata village, Katugoda. This gentle beach break — free of sharp reefs and rocks — features slow, calm waves ideal for surfers, and offers a scenic pause on the ride.
1882 Clock Tower
Stop at the iconic 1882 Clock Tower, a distinctive colonial landmark standing at the heart of Galle Fort. This historic timepiece is one of the most recognisable symbols of the old city.
1939 Galle Lighthouse
Ride past the Galle Lighthouse, built in 1939. Perched at the southern tip of the fort walls, the lighthouse has guided ships safely into the harbour for decades and offers beautiful views of the Indian Ocean.
Galle Fort - UNESCO World Heritage Site
Explore Galle Fort in depth — the largest remaining European-built fortress in Asia and a UNESCO World Heritage Site. The fortification blends Portuguese origins with later Dutch expansions, creating a unique blend of Asian and European architecture. Pedal along its ramparts and through its colonial-era streets.
All Saints Anglican Church
Pass by All Saints Anglican Church, constructed in 1871. This elegant colonial-era church is one of the oldest in Galle and remains an active place of worship within the fort walls.
Dutch Reformed Church
Visit the Dutch Reformed Church, featuring its distinguished historic belfry dated 1707. One of the oldest churches in Sri Lanka, it stands as a testament to the Dutch colonial period in Galle.
Flag Rock
Ride to Flag Rock, where in colonial times a flag-man would communicate with incoming ships to request a harbour pilot. Today it offers sweeping views of the ocean and the fort's outer walls.
Historical Landmark (1889)
Pass by another significant historical structure constructed in 1889, adding to the rich architectural tapestry of Galle Fort's storied past.
Dutch Hospital
End your fort exploration at the Dutch Hospital, one of the oldest colonial buildings in Sri Lanka, now beautifully restored and home to boutique shops and restaurants. A perfect final stop before returning to the meeting point.
