Tate Modern: Semi-Private Guided Tour

Step inside London’s Tate Modern — a former Bankside power station turned powerhouse of modern and contemporary art — and see it in a new light with a small-group guided tour. With no more than eight guests, this experience offers personal access, space to ask questions, and stories behind the paintings that most visitors miss.

What you will experience:

• Expert-led storytelling & discovery
An art historian or certified guide shares behind-the-scenes insights into works by Picasso, Dalí, Warhol and other landmark artists, helping you decode modern art in context.

• Architecture that speaks
Learn about the transformation of the Tate Modern building itself — from industrial power station (designed by Sir Giles Gilbert Scott) to the vast Turbine Hall and the striking Blavatnik (Switch House) extension. The architecture is as much part of the experience as the art.

• Hand-picked works & creative movements
Visit signature pieces and masterpieces, survey sweeping modern art movements (Cubism, Surrealism, Pop Art etc.), and understand how social change, war, culture and technology shaped the artists and their work.

• Small group benefits
With just up to eight people, there’s time for conversation, reflection, and meaningful engagement with the art—not just walking past it. Perfect for art lovers and curious travellers alike.

• Flexible pace & personal questions
Whether you want to linger over your favourite piece, dig deeper into a style, or ask about technique, your guide adjusts the tour to your interests.
